An uplifting adventure documentary about Ageless Shooters, a team of Ukrainian gamers aged 55+ who challenge difficult times, stereotypes, and their own limits as they step onto the global Counter-Strike 2 stage.

They come from different cities, different professions, and different walks of life — from engineers and scientists to bikers and investigators. But they are all united by one shared passion: the computer game Counter-Strike 2.

The Ukrainian esports team Ageless Shooters, whose players have an average age of over 55, was formed in 2019. That year, the Ukrainian team defeated the favourites of the fifth season of the International Senior League, Sweden’s SWG 3.0. They became a true sensation: none of the team members had any previous esports experience — just two months of intensive training and a competitive spirit. Since then, Ageless Shooters have represented Ukraine in the International Senior League and have already finished second in previous seasons.

However, Russia’s war against Ukraine has profoundly affected the team. It has scattered its members across different countries and forced some of them from their homes: two team members lived in Luhansk and Donetsk and had to leave their home cities because of the Russian occupation. Constant attacks and power outages in Ukraine create further challenges, making it difficult for the players to train regularly, although they try to practise three times a week. The team itself is also going through a difficult period: to remain competitive at the international level, it needs more players.

Despite all these challenges, the friends dream of competing in a new championship. Guided by young coaches, they are preparing for the tournament while searching for new team members. The goal of Ageless Shooters is to get ready for the upcoming season, travel to the annual international competition in Sweden, and finally win.

Despite the distance and difficulties, they are preparing to step onto the stage of a major international esports tournament — as a Ukrainian team, as friends, and as proof that gaming can bring people together even in the darkest of times. The upcoming championship will also give them something equally important: the chance for the entire team to reunite in person for the first time after four years of separation caused by the war.
